Resource by Mr. K. Murali A CD 'Deaf can be Successful' played, surprised the teachers and felt that deaf can do wonders. The teachers, who are following Oral teaching, came to know about the uses of Sign Language and decided to follow Total Communication. Teachers blamed the Parents who want their children to be taught orally. Teachers are pointed out to be the responsible person, who can explain clearly to the parents of the deaf children about the disadvantages of oral teaching and the benefits of the Sign Language. The administration should support the deaf in their development. Some accepted the change needed. They are asked to support the deaf in their placements and especially as a teacher. There are already sports trainers. But they must be appointed for teaching purpose. Initially, it can be a hard task. Initially, they can be engaged in taking Tuitions. Gradually their teaching ability improves and the level of the deaf develops. Teachers are insisted to teach effectively and be sure that the students understand the meaning of the contents. If not they are asked to try again to make them understand. Students sit silently as if they understand everything, afraid to ask doubts to the teachers and the teachers think that the explanation given to the students is enough. But it is not so. Students should be asked questions and make them feel free to ask doubts. They are asked not to maintain a gap between teachers and the students. By doing so, the students can improve and show interest towards learning. Separate workshop for the students and teachers was very useful and the problems of the both were discussed openly. Teachers felt very happy about the workshop and thanked the organizers.
